What we do

From the first swing of the hammer to the last bead of silicone.

The details

That is where you see who fitted the kitchen.

A kitchen is judged five centimetres from the worktop.

Your home

A maison de maître and a 1965 flat are not redone the same way.

High-end

The maison de maître

The kitchen often sits half a level down, on the courtyard, with 3.5 m ceilings and a cornice to respect. We take the storage right up, open onto the dining room when the wall allows, keep the cement tiles when they are beautiful. The glass roof onto the courtyard does the rest.

Budget kept

The 1960s and 70s flat

A closed 6 to 9 m² kitchen, beige tiles, the original electrical panel. We open onto the living room if the partition is not load-bearing, bring the electrics up to standard, gain storage to the ceiling. A well-fitted IKEA kitchen with a proper worktop changes everything there.

The method

Showroom or not, we handle everything else.

Many clients arrive with their kitchen already chosen at Ixina, IKEA, Schmidt or a joiner. Others want a single point of contact for everything. Both work, and the quote says precisely who does what.

If you have a showroom: we prepare the room to its plan, run the services to the right places, redo the floor and walls, and are there on fitting day for the connections. They fit the units, we do everything else.

If we supply everything: we draw the layout with you, order the carcasses, the worktop and the appliances, and fit the lot. One quote, one number, one invoice.

Questions

What we get asked before signing.

How much does a kitchen renovation cost in Brussels?

Between 8,000 and 14,000 € excl. VAT for a medium kitchen supplied and fitted in a standard range, excluding appliances. Fitting only, for a kitchen you supply, with the room prepared, sits between 3,500 and 6,500 €. Bespoke goes beyond 15,000 €. What weighs is not the surface: it is moving the sink, opening a wall, choosing stone. The estimator at the top of the page gives a range; the written quote gives the price.

I have already chosen my kitchen at IKEA or a showroom. Do you fit it?

Yes. We prepare the room to the plan's measurements, run the water, waste and electrics to the right places, redo the floor and walls if needed, then fit the units, the worktop and the appliances, and connect everything. That is exactly the part the showroom does not do.

Is the quote really free?

Yes. The visit to measure and the written quote cost nothing and commit you to nothing. A figure over the phone would be a guess; we would rather come and see the room.

How long does the work take?

One to three weeks on site, depending on whether we touch the floor, the walls and the layout. The units' manufacturing lead time, six to twelve weeks at most showrooms, runs in parallel and is shown separately. The start and end dates are written in the quote.

Can the kitchen be opened onto the living room?

Often. If the partition is not load-bearing, it comes down in a day. If the wall is load-bearing, we fit a beam after calculation, and in a flat the co-ownership must approve. We check the wall's status before pricing, never after.

Am I entitled to the 6% VAT rate?

If the home is over ten years old, is mainly used as a private dwelling and the invoice is to the end consumer, yes. Since 2022, a statement on the invoice replaces the certificate. The reduced rate applies to labour and to the materials we supply and fit.

Quartz, Dekton, laminate or wood: which worktop?

Laminate is the cheapest and lasts well if fitted without an open joint near the sink. Quartz and Dekton resist stains and heat, are cut to size and joined almost invisibly. Solid wood is warm and can be sanded, but needs oiling. We show you samples at the visit.

Who does what between you and the showroom?

It is written in the quote, line by line. In general: the showroom designs and delivers the units, sometimes fits them. We do the strip-out, plumbing, electrics, floor, walls, splashback, connections, extractor, finishing and cleaning. If they do not fit, we fit too.

Is the end-of-site clean included?

Yes, always, and it is written in the quote. You get back a kitchen you can cook in the same evening.

Do you also redo small apartment kitchens?

They are most of our jobs in Brussels: 6 to 9 m² kitchens in 1960s and 70s blocks or divided houses. A small kitchen well thought out, with storage to the ceiling and a proper worktop, can be redone without breaking the budget.

Do you come outside Brussels?

Brussels, all nineteen communes, and Brabant wallon as far as Wavre and Nivelles. Travel for the quote is not charged within that radius. Further away, ask: we will answer you frankly.

Who exactly am I hiring?

Cuisine Bruxelles is a brand of Freitas Group SRL, a registered Belgian company, BCE 1041.906.890, in Uccle, with professional liability and ten-year structural insurance. Your quote and your invoice carry that name and that VAT number.
